Belly Full in Asia.
By Vicki Edmunds
What a great and brilliant concept,
especially if you love travelling, and love the buzz of meeting
the locals. The real travel experience lies in the
people and their food. I
love when I'm travelling to all parts of the world, eating where
the locals people eat or with the actual locals themselves, this
always gives me an indication that the food is good, and most
importantly, I will be paying the local price, and seeing the
satisfaction and pride on their faces when tourists are eager to
enjoy their food and their
ambiance, I
first saw Eat With a Local by accident on the BBC show called
CLICK, and immediately signed up. Already
I've made some new friends, and put on the forum of my special
requests. I was planning a 4-week packing trip around Asia;
so EWAL could start to give me a platform to look for some new
eating friends in the region of Asia. I was
lucky and hooked up with a guy called TZE who was from Singapore.
We met up with TZE in a famous shopping mall called LOT 10.
You’re probably thinking a typical shopping mall eatery, however
this was with a difference. In LOT 10, all hawker stalls
are specially selected from the best street hawkers in the center
of Singapore, and all hawker stalls are graded for their food,
hygiene and ambience, they are graded the
following A)
Good B) Fair C) Eat at your own
peril So
all the eatery stalls in LOT 10 are graded A. We
enjoyed beautifully cooked local
food
